1.6 16v/1.7 16v Puma

The standard Puma comes with two engine options, the 1.6 16v (which recently replaced the 1.4 16v) and the 1.7 16v.

The Puma arrived on the scene in 1997 and has proved to be a huge hit from the start, the Puma was the only production Ford with a waiting list.

Puma Black

The Puma Black is a limited edition Puma that was introduced in the final quarter of 2000.

This model offers a 1.7 16v engine and has additional extras of leather interior, F1 style alloy wheels, alloy scuff plates and black metallic paint. The Puma Black costs exactly £1000 more than the standard 1.7 16v Puma at a price of £13,995.

Puma Millennium

This Millennium Edition was introduced to celebrate the new Millennium and sat alongside both the Ka and Focus Millennium Editions. This model was limited to a production run of 1000.

Additional extras to this model were Recaro leather interior, Millennium Edition alloy wheels and a rather loud yellow paint scheme.

Ford Racing Puma

The Ford Racing Puma was introduced as the ultimate Ford Puma and had a limited run of just 1000, unfortunately only 500 were eventually built. Every FRP was hand built by Tickfords and cost a staggering £23,000.

The FRP featured a highly modified 160 bhp engine, revised front and rear arches, 17in alloy wheels, Alcantara trim interior, revised suspension and a new front splitter.

This is how the Puma should have been!! (in my opinion anyway).

Puma Thunder

The Puma Thunder has just been released to mark the end of the Puma's production.

The 2000 special editions are based on the 1.7-litre Puma, £1210 of extras have been added to the Puma package.

The £13,995 Thunder is set apart by new 15-inch alloys. Additions to standard equipment include metallic grey or silver paint, air-conditioning, leather seats, passenger airbag, a six-CD multichanger plus heated door mirrors and front windscreen.
